Cisco Nexus 400G Models Description:

The Cisco Nexus 9300-GX switches are the next generation of fixed Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches capable of supporting 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GE). With the increase in use cases for applications requiring Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), the platform addresses the need for high-performance, power-efficient, compact switches in the networking infrastructure.

The Cisco Nexus 9300-GX2 series addresses the need for high-performance, power-efficient, compact switches in the networking infrastructure. These switches are designed to support 50G, 100G, 200G, and 400G fabrics for next-generation leaf and spine designs and IP storage fabrics. The platform is built with backward-compatible 400G optical interface Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable–Double Density (QSFP-DD) to transparently migrate existing data center fabrics from 40-Gbps and 100-Gbps speeds to 400 Gbps; it also offers various lower port speeds and densities, including 10, 25, 50, and 200 Gbps, using breakouts.

The Cisco Nexus 9500 platform supports a rich selection of hot-swappable multispeed cloud-scale line cards and fabric modules optimized for data-center deployments. These cloud-scale line cards and fabric modules, built using Cisco cloud-scale ASICs, provide the ideal foundation for large scalable data centers.

The Cisco Nexus 9500 R-Series line cards and fabric modules, delivering up to 9.6 Terabits per second (Tbps) per slot, for a total of 76.8-Tbps in the 8-slot chassis. Both chassis support line cards that offer 100-, 40-, 25-, 10-, or 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports. In addition to that, the 8-slot chassis also supports a line card that offers 400-Gigabit Ethernet ports.
